Leicester City Council are in the midst of a budget-cut-frenzy; all of which are totally unnecessary mind you. Vital public services are being shredded by a Labour Council that cares more about punishing the vulnerable (be they homeless or disabled) than opposing the Government. Now they are out to destroy the lives of our city’s children, implementing a raft of brutal cuts, which were agreed upon by the Council at the beginning of the year.

BUT NONE OF THIS IS NECESSARY – The Council could:

  • Refuse to make the cuts
  • Use reserves, borrowing, and some of the money earmarked for projects like Jubilee Square to keep services running
  • Take on the ConDem Government to get back the cash they have stolen!

If every Labour Council in the country did this the Government could be defeated!

We need to build a movement built around opposing all cuts, and firmly committed to taxing the super-rich.

Come to the meeting to discuss the alternatives to the cuts and how we can beat them!

REFRESHMENTS PROVIDED.
