McDonald’s Protest in Leicester on Monday
Workers at two McDonald’s restaurants in South East London and Cambridge are taking strike action on Monday 4 September. This strike represents the first action of its kind within the British branches of the fast-food chain.
The date has been called to coincide with Labor Day in the US, where workers in hundreds of cities are also taking action to put an end to low pay, casualization, and poor terms and conditions.
In Leicester, the Bakers, Food, and Allied Workers Union (BFAWU) are working with Leicester Young Socialists to organise a public solidarity event to be held outside the High Cross McDonalds in Leicester on the same day.
Protestors will be meeting outside the Highcross McDonalds (by the Clock Tower) at 5pm.
Please come along and show your support for those fighting against low pay, poor working conditions, and anti-union practices.
